A project born of an irritation: reproducibility is a principle everyone defends and almost no tool supports. ResearchOS is a research workshop built on three ideas — that a result should keep the trace of what produced it, that it should follow its author from one machine to the next, and that it should be shareable without giving up confidentiality.
Reproducibility first: every run is captured rather than documented — command, parameters, seed, code version, environment, outputs. Months later, any figure traces back to the exact recipe and replays in one command; if a source result ever changes, the tool warns you before your reviewers do. The lab notebook can seal its entries into a hash chain, verifiable proof of what was recorded and when. Continuity next: workspaces follow you from one machine to another, an experiment can be queued from a laptop and run on the machine that has the GPU, and the server doubles as a backup. Sharing last: encrypted spaces for a student and their supervisor, or for a whole team, with messaging the lab itself cannot read.
The full desktop application is free and stays that way, entirely local and in open formats. The paid tiers add cross-device sync, collaboration and services — not access to your own work, which remains exportable under any circumstances. Private beta on Linux, Windows and Android, developed under the French national student-entrepreneur status (Pépite).
